Introducing POM -- Pomeranians of Manhattan

Are humans truly the most compelling feature of New York?

A certain popular website makes that case.

Alfie and Nala the Pomeranians beg to differ.

They and their many fluffy brothers and sisters are the chief creature features of this town, lifting spirits,  connecting humans, lending a playful vibe to this high-paced, stressful city.

Humanizing the harsh urban landscape, if you will, by simply being their simple, adorable doggy selves.

Introducing POM -- Pomeranians of Manhattan.

Pomeranians are to Manhattan as kangaroos are to Australia.

As sand is to the desert.

As craters are to the moon.

Part of the landscape.

Inextricable.

Pomeranians go with Gotham City like bagels and lox, like Barnes and Noble, like Duane and Reade, like the Waldorf and Astoria.

Look for daily doses of cuteness here at POM, including pix of Manhattan's canine cuties in action and little snapshot bios about them, their humans and the urban runways where they strut their stuff.

Pictured, above, are the aforementioned Alfie and Nala, curators of Pomeranians of Manhattan.

Bred by Annette Wood of Hurleyville, New York, Alfie is a 14 year old male and Nala is his five year old half sister.

They are pictured on the downtown #2 train with their owners Emma Goldman and Jude Goldman, brother and sister.

Alfie was Emma's bat mitzvah present. Nala was Jude's bar mitzvah present.

Needless to say, they were the best thing to happen on New York's subway system that entire week...and to Manhattan's Morningside Heights where they dwell in academic splendor.
